Research
I’m currently devoting all my time, energy, and effort to 3D point cloud processing, and its uses in many different fields such as robotics, mapping, GIS, gaming, as well as other fields. The Point Cloud Library (PCL) project is part of my work, and I’m happy and grateful to be part of one of the best teams of developers on the planet.
Before PCL I worked on and wrote a lot of software for various other projects (see my resume for details). My (official) research career started with mobile robotics and multi-agent systems, took a dive into building robots/electronics, jumped to cognitive robotics and machine learning, and finally settled on perception. The latter has been the focus of my work for the past 10 years.
