Biographical

Born September 4th, 1981 in Alba-Iulia, Transylvania, Romania. Received first computer at the age of 13. Started learning programming languages one year later. Joined the ‘Horia, Closca & Crisan’ National College (high school) from Alba-Iulia in 1995, department of mathematics & physics. Graduated in 1999 (best baccalaureate GPA in class). Joined the Faculty of Automation & Computer Science, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca in 1999, department of Automation & Industrial Informatics. Graduated in 2004 with a MSc in engineering equivalent diploma (summa cum laude equivalent). Re-joined the same department for post-graduate advanced studies. Graduated in 2005 (summa cum laude equivalent). Moved to Munich, Germany, in the summer of 2005 and started to work as a researcher at TUM (Technische Universitaet Muenchen), as a part of the Intelligent Autonomous Systems research group, Computer Science department IX. Graduated in 2009 (summa cum laude). International Fellow Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Center (AIC), Stanford Research Institute (SRI) International, October 2007 - December 2008. Research Scientist at Willow Garage since then. Visiting Lecturer at Stanford University since 2009.
